This Tribute page has been created to honor the memory of Kurt Tretten. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to ALS United Rocky Mountain. This organization provided immeasurable support to Kurt and his family. WHAT IS ALS?

ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. ALS is an always-fatal neurodegenerative disease in which a person’s brain loses connection with the muscles. People with ALS lose their ability to walk, talk, eat, and eventually breathe. ALS United Rocky Mountain supports people living with ALS and their loved ones through services and education in Colorado, Wyoming and Utah. We leave no stone unturned in search for the cure of this progressive neurodegenerative disease.

Because there is no known cause or cure for ALS, there is an urgency for more research and financial support. Your donation today will help provide much needed services, which can be incredibly expensive and hard to obtain.  The estimated out-of-pocket cost for the care of a person living with ALS is over $250,000.
