Welcome to My Personal Page
First of all, we want to thank you all for helping us exceed our 2023 ALS fundraising goals and for those of you who were able to join us last year in walking with us around Sloan Lake. Our team raised almost $17,000 to help find a cure for ALS. Which was unbelievable for our first time walking. We had 44 family and friends join our team to walk with us while Jon drove his Red Rig around the lake. The Defeat ALS Walk raises funds to support those affected by ALS and to spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure. Our hope is one day a cure will be in place to help those that suffer with this horrible disease.
As most of you know, our family has a personal experience with ALS as my dad, Jon, was diagnosed with ALS in September of 2021. He is coming up on 3 years and is still going strong. He continues to work out and his stubbornness has helped him achieve several accomplishments. Our goal is to always celebrate successes no matter how small they are and to "do what we can, while we can".
We appreciate your support in being able to donate to this incredible organization and if you are able to walk with us, we would welcome you to join us on Sunday, October 6 at 9am at Sloan Lake in Denver. Hope to see you!
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.
That’s why I’m walking. To change the statistics. To bring help and hope to those living with the disease. To ensure that no one ever hears the words: “You Have ALS” again.
But, we can’t stop now. The key to a cure begins with you.
Please consider walking with me or sponsoring me. With your help, we will be able to make a difference in the lives of people affected by this disease.
